Working with Communities
This page is dedicated to my ongoing work with communities. I am deeply committed to understanding how to work with the precariousness of capitalist societies which cultivate scarce resources for the most vulnerable members of our society. I am interested in utilizing community-based research to work alongside local organizations and their members to address pressing social issues. With a passion for collaboration and meaningful engagement, I intend to integrate academic inquiry with real-world impact, ensuring that my research methods are both inclusive and actionable.
Area Agency on Aging
Since January 2023, I have been actively volunteering and in partnership with the Area Agency on Aging. Through the Meals on Wheels program, I deliver nutritious meals to older adults while also providing moments of companionship and a weekly wellness check. I am committed to supporting their well-being, ensuring they feel cared for and connected to the community.
Through this partnership, I have also collaborated with social workers and fellow volunteers to create a community-engaged film surrounding the nutrition program in 2023. For more information, please click on the Visual Anthropology page under Projects.
